TUKUTANA KIDS’ GOLF

TUKUTANA KIDS’ GOLF equips East African youth with life and leadership skills, and valuable access to mentors and opportunities. As the first non-profit organization to launch a junior golf initiative in Uganda, Tukutana is honored to partner with and receive tremendous support from the Uganda Golf Club (UGC) and the Uganda Ladies' Golf Union (ULGU).

Since the program’s inception in 2011, more than 400 Ugandan boys and girls have been introduced to golf and its benefits.

Instruction

Whether they are teeing off at the golf club or in rural villages, Tukutana golfers receive quality coaching and mentoring through our programs. Skills gained through the sport equip the children to excel in school and future jobs.

Opportunities

Tukutana golfers gain opportunities to compete in national and international competitions. Following high school, our golfers have access to internships and employment through the Uganda Golf Club. *Two Tukutana golfers were selected to the Uganda National Team and represented their country in the All-Africa Championships held in Morocco and Egypt!

Golf Camp

Your generous support makes it possible for Ugandan children to attend Tukutana Golf Camps hosted at the Uganda Golf Club and in rural villages.

Thank you!

IRENE’S STORY

Before joining Tukutana's golf team, Irene wanted to launch writing and acting clubs at her high school in Ggaba, Uganda. Her ambitions though were met with skepticism.

"Why would you start these clubs?" she was asked. "You can't act, and no one will want to join these clubs.,” she was told. A few months later, however, Irene returned from school proudly wearing an official badge titled "Acting Club, President."

Of her decision to overcome doubts and host acting and writing clubs, Irene triumphantly said, "Before, when people told me I wasn't capable of doing something, I believed them, but now that I play golf, I have confidence!"
